Asian Chicken Bites in Orange Sauce with Rice

Prepare the sauce. Thoroughly rinse the orange, grate its zest into a bowl, and then squeeze out the juice. Peel and grate the ginger and garlic. Add soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and water to the mixture.

Pour 7 dl of water into a large pot and bring it to a boil.

Peel the onion and slice it into strips. Wash the broccoli thoroughly and separate it into small florets. Peel the stem and slice it into thin pieces.

Rinse the rice under cold water in a colander. Once the water boils, add the rice, season with salt, and reduce the heat. Cook on low heat for 11–12 minutes.

Cut the chicken into 4–5 larger pieces and coat them in flour.

Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sauté for 6–8 minutes until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper. Add the onion and broccoli, and continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes. Add more oil if needed.

Pour the prepared sauce into the pan. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat. Simmer for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a little water if necessary.

Serve the mixture of chicken and vegetables on plates with a portion of rice.
