Mashed Potatoes:: 2-2,5 l water; 1 tspsalt; 1 pkgpotatoes; 3 tbspbutter
Catalan Stew:: 1 onion; 3 garlic clove; 2 carrot; 2 red pepper; 1 pkgchorizo sausages; 2 tbspoil; 1.5 tspsalt; pinch black pepper; 2 pkgpaprika powder; 1 pkgcumin; 1 pkgdried herbs; 1 pkgred wine vinegar; 1 pkgdiced tomatoes; 2 dlwater

Pour 2–2.5 liters of water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Peel the potatoes, wash them, and cut them into smaller pieces. Add a pinch of salt to the water, place the potatoes in, reduce the heat, and cook for approximately 10–15 minutes.

Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Peel the carrot, rinse it, and slice it into thin rounds. Wash the bell peppers, remove the seeds, and cut them into cubes. Slice the chorizo into rounds.

Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the chorizo and sauté for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the onion, carrot, and bell peppers and continue sautéing for another 2–3 minutes.

Season with salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, dried herbs, and vinegar.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, rinse the can with 2 dl of water, and add it to the pan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 8–10 minutes until the carrot softens.

Drain the cooked potatoes and mash them with a potato masher. Stir in the butter and season with salt to taste.

Serve the Catalan stew with a portion of mashed potatoes on each plate. Enjoy your meal!
