Turkey Meatballs in Tomato Sauce with Mashed Potatoes

Bring water to a boil for the potatoes. Wash, peel, and chop the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until tender.

Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. Finely chop the fresh oregano.

Combine the ground turkey and garlic in a bowl. Season with salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika powder, and fresh oregano.

Rinse the spinach in cold water using a sieve and let it drain.

With oiled hands, shape the ground turkey mixture into small meatballs.

Heat a frying pan. Add the turkey meatballs and fry for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally.

Pour the crushed tomatoes into the pan. Rinse the can with water and add it as well. Season with salt, black pepper, and chili powder. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 8-10 minutes.

Drain the cooked potatoes well and mash them with a potato masher. Mix in butter and spinach. Grate in the zest of the washed lemon and squeeze in the juice. Adjust salt if needed.

Serve the turkey meatballs with tomato sauce and mashed potatoes.
